Statistical Analysis of the Patients in the Children´s Welfare Instituitions

Abstract
|
|
|
Statistical analysis was made on the patients who lived in the various children´s welfare institutions in Kwang ju or its neighbor and who visited to the Kwang ju Chung Hyun Children´s Clinics from April 1976 to Nov. 1979. The results were as follows:
1. Total number of patients of 0. P. D. were 15,874, including 2,179 new patients and 13695 registered patients, and the male to female ratio was 1: 1.3.
2. Age distribution showed 21.2% in infant group and 36.7 % in 1 to 6 years.
3. Seasonal distribution showed prevalence in summer.
4. Major 10 leading diseases were U.R.I., Pyoderma, diarrhea, pneumonia, otitis media, scabies, bronchitis, tonsillitis, wound, and urticaria in order of frequency, which occupied 82.5% of total patients.
5. Total number of admitted patients were 288 and age distribution was highest in infancy (37.5%).
6. Major 3 leading diseases of admitted patients were diarrhea, pneumonia and pyoderma in order of frequency, which occupied 56.3% of total admissions.
7. The mortality rate of admissions was 5.2%.
